Wall Street
Wall Street is certainly the most famous street in New York and epitomized the wealth and power which has underpinned the cities rise to becoming a global financial centre.
The
street runs through the centre of the financial district in Manhattan
and is the home of the New York Stock Exchange,
Over time the surrounding area has collectively become known as Wall Street.
Empire State Building
The Empire State Building has become a symbol not only of New York but the US as a whole.
The 102-story Art Deco skyscraper takes its name the nickname for the state of New York and when it was built in 1931 it was the worlds tallest building.
It is now again the tallest, following the destruction of the World Trade Center.
The Empire State Building has been named by the American Society of Civil Engineers as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.
Central Park
The 843-acre park ranks alongside the Empire State Building as New York's most famous landmark and is rated as one of the premier outdoor venues in the world.
Grand Central
New York's famous Grand Central has undergone a complete regeneration and has been reborn as a leisure and shopping destination in the heart of the city.
The building has been restored to its 1913 splendor and now boasts five excellent restaurants and cocktail lounges along with 20 casual international eateries.
It also houses the Grand Central Market where you can find gourmet foods and 50 shops.
Grand Central has also become a showpiece destination for many public events.
The 12,000 square foot former Main Waiting Room, Vanderbilt Hall, hosts many events throughout the year.
